WEBSITE OF THE DAY - The BBC Story

A fascinating look at what makes the Beeb tick

1 September 2009 12:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

Auntie, the Beeb, The BBC - a national treasure and the envy of the civilised world.

And I'm only half joking.
The BBC is one of those brands (and it is a brand) that literally can open doors where others can't. Be it far-flung worn-torn corners of the world or the shadiest of corporate boardrooms, the BBC can get in and get the news out like no other organisation.

They also produce some of the best-loved and most successful broadcasting on the planet, and their radio output is still trusted the world over to inform and entertain.

The history of the BBC is a fascinating story and this re-launched 'history of' site spills the Beeb's beans in an easily digestible way.

Long live Auntie.
