HTC Touch Pro 2 hits Sprint

"Best Value" equals expensive

1 September 2009 17:27 GMT / By Duncan Geere

Sprint has announced that HTC's Touch Pro 2 handset is coming to its network. It's going to cost you though - quite considerably. The Windows Mobile 6.1 handset will be $350 on a two-year contract, and with a $100 mail-in rebate.

The phone itself has a 3.6-inch WVGA display, slide-out QWERTY, 3G and Wi-Fi. It's also got HTC's TouchFLO interface and a special Sprint TV application that'll let you get NFL and Nascar footage on your phone, if that's what you're into. There's a 3.5mm headphone jack, too, and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

Sprint's SVP Product Develoment said: "More than ever, today's wireless customers expect to stay productive whether they are on the road or in the office. HTC Touch Pro2 (...) makes that a reality".

Would-be subscribers will be able to get their hands on the phone on 8 September. In the UK, the handset's available on Vodafone and Orange.
