Samsung has officially acknowledged the existence of its much-leaked YP-R1 touchscreen portable media player. It lots of the same features as the company's mobile phones, including the TouchWiz interface and Beat DJ software.
There's also a 2.6-inch touchscreen running at 400x260 resolution, upto 32GB of storage, and support for Bluetooth, TV-out and most major audio and video formats, including DivX. It's pretty skinny too - less than a centimetre thick.
Given the timing of the announcement, we'll almost certainly be seeing this at the IFA tradeshow later this week. Pocket-lint will be there in force, and will do our darndest to get hands on with the YP-R1 and see if it's worth the $180 asking price. It should be available next month.
