While Sony has announced the brand spanking new 3G-enabled Daily Edition Reader in the States, here in the UK it has officially announced the coming-soon availability of two previously announced new additions to its ebook Reader line.A new budget model, the Reader "Pocket Edition", or PRS-300, will go on sale in the UK in mid-September for around £190 while the Reader Touch Edition (PRS-600) comes in at around £259 and is due the end of September.
The Pocket Edition model offers a 5-inch e-paper display and will be available in rose and silver. Sony claims the diminutive device can store about 350 standard eBooks and provides up to 2 weeks of reading on a single battery charge.
The Reader Touch Edition gets a 6-inch touchscreen display that works with both finger touch and a stylus pen for notes. It also boasts an on-board Oxford English Dictionary, expansion slots for both Memory Stick PRO Duo and SD card and will be available in black or silver.
