Want to know what a £1000 watchphone looks like on a celebrity? Thought you did, so here you are.

That there above is the hand of Stephen Fry who has been sent one by LG to see if it will woo him away from the love of his iPhone (or five as we think the case might be).

What has Mr Fry got to say about it all? The verdict is still out however he couldn't resist a "Touchscreen, very whizzy."

Considering Fry slammed the BlackBerry storm when it came out last year with words like:

"Been playing with the BB Storm. Shockingly bad. I mean embarrassingly awful. Such a disappointment. Rushed out unfinished. What a pity."

"Very whizzy" appears to be high praise indeed.

Orange has said that - for a limited time - it will be selling the watchphone, or GD910 to give it its proper name, for £500.

  • Yo Yo Yo - 1000 pounds - I do not think that it will be popular straight away. It will take many years before this phone will be popular. In my opinion the upcoming phone Nokia Aeon ( http://www.domesticutilities.com/aeon.htm ) will be the best upcoming mobile phone.

  • £1000??? back to the drawing board boys!! You have a long way to go esp with price. You betta sort it before Apple comes up with a similar gadget...... Posted by Chaka, United Kingdom
  • I think its not going to last longer as its LG made and its too expensive. If you say that its Nokia made then its different. On the other hand chinese model is out and going only for 70 pounds. See this http://www.domesticutilities.com/wp.htm . So i think it wont be popular in new generation Posted by barrett, uk
  • I'm still not at all sold on convergence phones. So many websites are ill-equiped to deal with scaling down for phone browsers. I find the layouts are often unintuative. So far, I've only found 2 sites which I can use properly on my LG - www.Facebook.com and IllicitEncounters.com - a social network and a married dating site. Well done there, deisgners. Disappointing, since neither of which help me get my job done. Posted by miss_tery, United Kingdom
