Android appears in nifty "Glass" landline form

Complete with eight-inch touchscreen display

Cloud Telecomputers has unveiled some images of a tasty-looking Android-based landline phone, which comes equipped with an 8-inch glass-covered LCD touchscreen display.

The benefits of using Android for landlines are obvious - although it needs a Wi-Fi or Ethernet signal, the visual voicemail, calendars, SMS, email and other apps could come in extremely handy for businesses.

The company also reckons that more and more business-focused apps will start to be developed for the platform too, offering meeting organisation or task management functions beyond those offered by default in the OS.

The Glass will be available in the States from Q1 2010, and should cost somewhere between $600 and $700. It comes with HD audio and Bluetooth.
