Official World of Warcraft magazine launched

International quarterly title

20 August 2009 11:22 GMT / By Duncan Geere

Five years on from its release, Blizzard's World of Warcraft MMO is still going strong, and has 11.5 million players across the world - more than the population of Greece.

As a result, Blizzard is launching an official magazine in conjunction with Future Publishing. The title will be quarterly and available across the world in English, French, German and Spanish editions. World of Warcraft: The Magazine will be aimed at both newbies to the game and veterans.

The magazine will be lead by Editorial Director Julian Rignall and former Official Xbox Magazine Senior Editor Dan Amrich. Tim Edwards, currently Editor of PC Gamer UK, will become the European Editor of the title.

Subscriptions will be opened at Blizzard's BlizzCon convention, and will also be available to order online at worldofwarcraftthemagazine.com, starting 5pm 21 August.
