d3o, super-flexible, but very strong and protective material, has made it into yet another product, this time an iPhone case to protect your iPhone or iPhone 3GS.

The case promises to be soft and subtle when wrapped around your phone, but hard on impact when it's dropped giving you the best of both worlds.

The technology until now has been only really used in sports equipment like biking jackets to save you from breaking a rib when you get into an accident.

It's available now for £14.95.

  • a real shame that any of the side buttons cant be accessed and the front and back of the product cant be protected with this iband! i cant wait for Tech 21 to get a decent design on the market that actually protects the screen, then i might buy one without returning it. At this stage i am back with my 5 sided leather sleeve, it protects from impact damage AND scratches although i have to slide it out to access it! - maybe Tech 21 should make one of these cases instead of the iband design! No point in having the best protection for all around the sides if you cant then access the side buttons and the screen can get scratched or cracked! Posted by peterM, USA
  • Its always difficult buying 'blind' online so if you want an insider look at the latest hyped up product - the tech 21 iband - then check out this MUST SEE review before you buy online . It will certainly help you make a decision http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjKZUiCh_ag Posted by Morgan, US
  • The reason you cant access any of the side buttons is actually due to the d3o material itself ! d3o is designed for impact protection, ie, from impact from dropping it. However, the d3o is not intelligent enough to distinguish between the impact of dropping it & the impact from pressing it! If you think about it, when you press the button, the d3o activates & hardens as it thinks your finger pushing on it is an impact! Basically, d3o is not designed for this type of item. d3o is great for ski wear, etc but not designed for this type of item. Tech 21 have not thought this one through and i bet Dragons Peter and Theo are kicking themselves...and kissing that 150K goodbyeeeee.... Posted by Madley, Canada
