Archos is to hold an event next month in France and the UK to launch an Android based tablet Pocket-lint can confirm.Invites that have already gone out to French journalists detail an event in Paris on the 15 September and come complete with the friendly Android character.
An Archos spokesperson in the UK has confirmed to Pocket-lint that there will be a simultaneous event in the UK on the same day.
Rumours suggest that the tablet will feature a 5-inch touchscreen display, pipping Apple to the punch of its much rumoured, but still yet unconfirmed iTablet device set to launch in 2010.
Rumours for the Archos version suggest 720p video support, HDMI output, and natively embedded OpenGL libraries.
Earlier in the week an unnamed web tablet appeared on the internet. Could this be the new Archos tablet?
We will keep you posted.
