IKEA launches Space Maker website

19 August 2009 16:57 GMT / By Duncan Geere

IKEA has launched a website that it hopes will let students plan the layouts of their rooms before they hit University, rather than cramming everything in messily.

The Space Maker site contains plenty of furniture from the Swedish company, but also has plenty of essentials that IKEA doesn't stock, like acoustic guitars, basketball hoops and the massive piles of clothes that build up in every students' room.

The site is free to use, and pretty simple to work out. You can resize items, as well as moving them backward and forward, depending on there you want to put them. If you haven't invested in a copy of the Sims 3, and you get a kick out of designing rooms, then you might think it's worth a look.
