Eyepet, Sony's virtual pet game for the PS3 that uses the EyeCam to let you interact with a virtual pet through augmented reality has been priced and dated.

Amazon.co.uk is listing the game without camera for pre-order for £19.99 with a 30 October shipping date meaning this is likely to be a sure fire hit for Christmas.

Using the Sony EyeToy (web camera) the console will display a cute critter on any flat surface in front of the camera and allow you to interactive with it as if it was real.

The virtual pet, of course, can be customised, played with, toyed and annoyed with a stack of content available on the game disk and more promised via downloadable content after the game has launched.

Sony looks to be offering a "with camera" bundle however as yet Amazon hasn't priced that offering.

We will keep you posted.
