Sony Altus range promises to stream music to parts others can't. Audio, Sony, Connected hi-fi 1

Sony has announced a new range of iPod docks in connection with Best Buy in the US as well as a range of other streaming systems for music fans to get excited about.

The new ALTUS range, as it will be called, will be partly exclusive to the retailer in the US and no doubt make a journey to the UK when Best Buy launches in Britain.

Heading up the ALTUS product line-up are two iPod docking systems designed to "enhance and expand your home listening experience" leaving Sony's own Walkman range to ponder why it bothers to exist in the first place.

Top of the pile is the ALT-SA31iR multi-room iPod package that features three separate components: an iPod/iPhone docking station and two high-output wireless speakers alongside an AM/FM tuner and S-AIR remote that can stream to other S-AIR receivers.
