Microsoft Office confirmed for Nokia handsets. Phones, Mobile phones, Nokia, Microsoft, Microsoft Office Mobile 1

As reported on Tuesday Microsoft and Nokia have entered an agreement to bring Microsoft's Mobile Office application to Nokia handset.

Nokia users will be able to access Microsoft Office Mobile, Microsoft SharePoint Server and Microsoft System Center from their handsets.

"This is much more than putting Microsoft products on Nokia smartphones," said Kai Oistamo, executive vice president for Nokia's devices unit.

Nokia has said the first implementation will be the Microsoft Mobile Communicator product next year, although refused to be drawn on what device would be getting the new Microsoft feature.

Available for the company's Nokia Eseries to begin with starting from 2010, Microsoft expects the software to roll out to other handsets in due time.

Users will be able to use the new software to view, edit, create and share Office documents via Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft applications.

Nokia has confirmed that it won't be releasing a Windows Mobile device.
