Apple adds antiglare to 15-inch MacBook Pro

Designers win fight, but at a cost

Apple has backtracked and started giving customers looking to buy the company's 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops the chance to opt for a Matte "antiglare" screen.

Although previously available on the 17-inch model, the feature was removed from the 15-inch model by Apple, much to the annoyance of graphic designers across the world.

However, new customers will have to pay for the privilege of going matte over gloss. Apple has slammed a £40 price tag on the new feature in the UK and a $55 charge in the US - the same price for the same screen option on the 17-inch model.

The company has not added the option to the newest MacBook Pro - the 13-inch model or the company's MacBook Air laptop either.
