Kingston Technology has announced a new addition to its range of SSDNow drives. The V+ series claims to have " higher and faster performance specifications" for people who really need to eke every last bit of power from their machines.

It has random 4K read speeds of up to 6,300 IOPS, and random 4K writes of up to 291 IOPS. There's a sequential read speed of 220MB/s and it can write at 180MB/s. It's available in 64GB capacity now for £130, with 128GB and 256GB capacities dues in September for an undisclosed price.

"Users will be more productive as the drives' higher capacities allow for more data storage and faster boot and application load times", said Steve Hall, Product Marketing Manager - Corporate, Kingston Technology Europe.
