Apple's new Snow Leopard OS might be available for Pre-order at Amazon, but that hasn't stopped the company from releasing yet another OS update for the current version of Leopard.

The 165MB 10.5.8 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility and security of your Mac, as well as specific fixes says Apple.

Issues supposedly fixed include "compatibility and reliability issues when joining AirPort networks, an issue that could cause some monitor resolutions to no longer appear in Displays System Preferences, and issues that may affect Bluetooth reliability".

Users can opt to download the new update via the software update tool with OSX or via the Apple website.

  • Was definitely suffering with Airport issues, hopefully they'll be resolved by this update. Posted by Bluem000n, uk
  • Are people still using crApple Mac?

It is amazing that the predictions are correct about people who buy iPod and iCrap also seeming to eventually buy an obsolete-out-of-the-box Macintosh simply because they want to "match" their iCrap with a $4000 obsolete "computer" featuring a 35 year old free operating system with cute bubbly graphics added on.

Not bad for a company that is all marketing and has no engineers, besides the ones that work for that company you never heard of in China...

  • LOL - in fact they've moved from about 2.8% market share to almost 10%. That's because the machine, the experience and the superstructure are absolutely superb.

As a 33 year programmer having forgotten more languages than most people will ever learn, having used more OSs than most people even know exist, having dozens and dozens of clients ranging from pr0n retail to radiation oncology, with hundreds of computers in my care ranging from different versions of Windows, *nix, BSD, Solaris and OS-X, I can tell you that the finest machine available is the Mac. Period.

It is unfortunate that your dislike blinds you to their positive attributes.
