"Stellar"

LG has announced the "stellar" line up of stars as acts for the official launch of the "reinvigorated" LG Arena.

The NEC was re-branded as the LG Arena last September following a £28 million sponsorship deal with LG Electronics, similar to O2's "The O2" venue, formerly The Millennium Dome.

Teen star Miley Cyrus, Green Day, and Depeche Mode have been confirmed to feature in the LG Arena's opening season, which runs from 7 October to 31 December.

Birmingham's LG Arena will become one of the largest arenas in the UK with a maximum capacity of 16,700 following the news this week of a green light for extra 2000 capacity.

A "diversity of acts featuring music, sport and comedy" are promised in the months to come.
