Roberts Radio has launched the first in a "exciting new range" of DAB radios with what appears to be an emphasis on ease of use with a more affordable price point than previous models.

The "Elise", aimed at "modern" kitchens or bedrooms, is a £49.99 DAB/FM RDS radio available in black or white.

Said to be easy to use, with an "easy-to-navigate menu", the Elise offers 9 station presets - including a fave station button, blue LCD display and large rotary volume control.

Features include line output, headphone and DC input sockets and the option to run it either from the mains or via batteries.

  • Roberts have a great range and it is good to see that they are looking to make Digital Radio more accessable.

It woutld have been even better though to see a new DAB radio that was capable of displaying the Data Services that are being broadcast - or at the ver least had a screen capable of showing the EPG information that is included in the transmissions. - A screen other than the little two line "Crawling Text" screenthat has become teh standard it seems.

It is such a pity that DAB is not being allowed to show any where near its full potential! - Perhaps now that the Govt haveput there backing to the format - the Manufacturers will have the nerve to start producing serious DAB radios!!
