Panasonic launches rugged KX-TG6481ET

Panasonic has launched its KX-TG6481ET landline phone, an addition to its DECT range of cordless home phones that has "rugged" capabilities.

Why would you need a rugged landline phone? If you have an aggressive toddler, perhaps, or if you do a lot of calling in the bath, or maybe even if you're a keen gardener but don't like missing phone calls. The 6481 has full IP54 compliance, meaning that it's drip, dust, shock and splashproof.

It also has a 100-name phone book, 17 hours of call-time battery life and a 20-minute answer phone built in. You can get it solo or in a twin pack, and if you have a really massive house, then up to six phones can link up to one base station.

The KX-TG6481ET is available from August from electronics shops and the Panasonic e-shop. It costs £60 for a single, and £90 for the twin-pack.
