Apple updates Time Capsule

Doubles capacity to 2TB

The refresh has yet to hit the UK, but in the US Apple has updated its Time Capsule backup product with new, larger capacities, but, consumers will be happy to note, kept prices unchanged.

The new Time Capsule is available with a 2TB capacity while the previously higher-end 1TB model is also available, with the 500GB version dropped from the product line.

Costs in the US are $499 and $299, the same price points as before. In the UK the 1TB model is £379 while the 500GB version is £229.

Recently Apple has used these kinds of update to up UK pricing - as with the recent MacBook refreshes - so it will be interesting to see if the prices remain the same here, or rise, when the update hits.
