Sagem has announced it is to enter the Freesat market with the launch of a new, HD set-top box for the service.

Along with a satellite dish, the DSI86HD offers UK consumers access to the high-def broadcasts subscription free and is available from Argos now priced at £129.99.

New Freesat users have the option of purchasing an installation package (including satellite dish) with the receiver.

The DSI86HD boasts a built-in "intelligent upscaling feature" that claims to upscale standard def content to 1080i HD viewing while functions of the box include an 8-day electronic programme guide and parental controls.

Sagem says it will be announcing the availability of recordable Freesat receivers, the DTR84250S and DTR84500S later in the summer, with pricing set at £249.99 and £299.99 respectively.
