Leica has announced pricing and release date info for its monster 37.5-megapixel S2, which is essentially a medium-format camera in a DSLR frame. It's going to arrive in October, and cost a whopping £16,000.As previously reported on Pocket-lint, Leica's aiming directly at rival Hasselblad with this one, calling the S2 "twice as fast as Hasselblad H-series cameras", as well as referring to it as "the best professional camera system in the world".
Oh, and if you fancy paying £3100 more, then you get a sapphire glass monitor screen and a "Platinum Service" support package. Don't forget to add a lens, either - that's just the price for the body. There's another three grand right there.
