Not happy with launching just one webcam, Logitech has launched seven as it tries to cater for all who want to stay in touch with others over the Internet.

The new models include the Logitech Webcam Pro 9000, Logitech Portable Webcam C905, Logitech Webcam C600, Logitech Webcam C500, Logitech Webcam C300, Logitech Webcam C250 and the Logitech Webcam C200.

The new models will all support the company's newly announced Vid service "the free, fast and easy way to make a video call with your Logitech webcam", says Logitech.

Split into three categories; premium mid range and basic, the top end models (the Pro 900, C905 and C600) will sport Zeiss optics, a 2-megapixel sensor with 720p video and snapshots at up to 8 megapixels via software. You'll also get Logitech's RightLight 2 technology and video effects.

At the mid-level, the C500 will only come with a 1.3-megapixel camera and 5-megapixel still performance, again software enhanced.

At the entry-level mark, the C300, C250, and Logitech Webcam C200 will give you a 1.3-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel stills via software enhancement and the chance to phone your granny without breaking the bank.

Pricing starts from a rather cheap $30 and ranges up to $100 for the
Logitech Webcam Pro 9000.

Logitech says that all models will be available from August in both the US and Europe.
