Kodak has announced the follow up to its Zi6 pocket camcorder with the UK launch of the Flip-rivalling Kodak Zi8 digital video camera. While the Zi6 only managed 720p capture, this new model records in full 1080p high definition and there's also built-in electronic image stabilisation as well as easy Facebook and YouTube uploads.
Claiming to make it easy "to spontaneously capture HD video - of heartwarming moments, of ‘can you believe that?’ moments, and of just plain laugh-out-loud moments - and then quickly and easily share them", the new camera records at the touch of a button.
With a 2.5-inch LCD display, the new pocket gadget gets a flexible swing-out USB arm for uploading and charging,
the ability to capture 5-megapixel stills, face tracking, stereo sound recording and comes complete with an HDMI cable.
Kodak claims the little camcorder can record up to 10 hours of HD video with the expandable SD/SDHC card slot that supports up to 32GB cards.
The KODAK Zi8 digital video camera will be available in aqua, raspberry and black from September and will retail for £149.99.
