A day after the release of the new Toshiba digital photo frames in the US, Pocket-lint has managed to check one out in the flesh and here is our gallery of hands on images for you to enjoy.

The new range of "digital media frames" that deliver real-time information such as personalised weather, traffic, and sports scores as well as music and video via a wireless connection have also teamed-up with FrameChannel to which frame owners need to set-up an account on their PC.

Once set up users can subscribe to the RSS feeds as well as upload images or link favourite photos, music and videos from sites like Flickr, Photobucket and Facebook.

Specs-wise, the frames are available in 8- and 10-inch sizes, have a tilt sensor for portrait or landscape formats, touch sensitive controls and offer a calendar and a clock.

The displays are said to be high-res, and with built-in speakers there's support for WMA and MP3 as well as Jpeg, TIFF and BMP.

The new digital media frame range will be available in the States in August for $180 for the black or white 8-inchers and $230 for the 10-inch version in black.
