If recent launches are anything to go by, this "augmented reality" we're hearing about is going to be big.

Here London-based software developer James Alliban takes a business card and with a graphic printed on the card and a webcam, creates an augmented reality version of himself that "pops up" from the card when viewed on-screen.

"There’s not really enough space on a business card to explain yourself in any detail so I thought I’d extend it using augmented reality", Aliban explains.

"I recorded a short video bio and created a 3D grid of coloured planes. These planes are updated with the colours from the video and extruded depending on the level of brightness".
