A breast cancer charity has commissioned a pink laptop in a bid to encourage gadget girls to give more.

According to the charity Genesis Appeal, women now spend an average of £634 a year on gadgets and technology compared to just £280 a year on charity donations.

Miffed that they aren't getting more, the charity has created a Pink laptop in an attempt to get more money out of women and spread the good word at the same time.

Every time a special edition pink Ergo Ensis S laptop is purchased, 10 per cent of the total order cost (exclusive of VAT) will be donated to The Genesis Appeal.

The laptop features a Intel Celeron M 360 (1MB L2 cache, 1.40GHz, 400MHz FSB), 256MB RAM memory, a 15 inch screen, PCI Express integrated graphics chip, 3-in-1 media card reader, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, and 40GB hard disk drive.

The laptops, built to order to a powerful specification in the UK, are available via the Genesis website and cost £675.
