Trinvo has announced that it's launching a digital phrasebook to try and lessen the embarrassment of English-speakers abroad. The Travel Translator can cross-translate up to 12 international languages including Mandarin, German, Russian and Japanese.

If you don't trust your pronunciation skills, then it can use a "human" voice to say the words for you, and includes 750 "commonly-used" phrases in each language. It also has a dictionary of over 2500 words and famous sight-seeing spots in each country.

Phrases are sorted into eight categories, and there's save and recall functionality for phrases you need to use a lot. There's a 3.5mm headphone jack if you'd rather listen privately, as well as adjustable screen contrast, auto power-off and a currency converter.

It costs £35 and it's available now.
