Samsung announces wide-angle PL70 compact camera

Samsung has announced the release of the 12-megapixel PL70, a compact digital camera, offering 5x optical zoom and a 28mm wide angle lens, good for group shots and landscapes.
The compact offers 720p HD movie capture and HDMI connectivity for big screen viewing via an optional cradle, alternatively there's 3-inch LCD screen for playback.
Features include "Smart Auto" scene recognition with 11 settings, "Smart Album" to help find content, face, smile and blink detection and self portrait options as well as "Beauty Shot" mode that retouches facial skin.
Measuring 95.8 x 59.5 x 23.9mm, the PL70 comes offering dual image stabilisation there's ISO up to ISO 3200.
The PL70 will be available in red, pink and silver for £199 from August 2009.
