Stuart Miles takes his weekly look at the world of technology and gadgets in this latest instalment of the Megawhat "Tech Week in View".

Miles considers the announcement from Google that it is to offer a "lightweight" operating system and how this compares to competitor's offerings.

There's also a look at the all-too-brief news from Palm and O2 that the two companies are to offer the Pre in the UK, and data from Ofcom that suggests O2 might not be the best operator for such an endeavour from a 3G coverage point of view.

Finally, Miles reveals why a particular time and date in August might be of interest to the mathematically minded... Hit play for more.
