T-Mobile: No HTC Hero in USA for us

Focusing on myTouch 3G for now

8 July 2009 16:50 GMT / By Stuart Miles

T-Mobile has said that it has "no plans" to bring the newly announced HTC Hero to the US, instead deciding to concentrate on the launch of the myTouch 3G (aka the HTC Magic) at the moment.

T-Mobile "has no plans to bring the HTC Hero to market" the CTO of T-Mobile US told journalists after Pocket-lint posed the question.

The news is likely to come as a blow to T-Mobile US customers who might have been hoping to get the new HTC handset complete with the HTC Sense interface on the network.

However HTC has confirmed to Pocket-lint that the HTC Hero will get a US launch later in the year

"We are bringing it to the US", the company's US CEO told us, refusing to be drawn on which operator, in a candid talk at the launch of the new myTouch 3G handset.

We will keep you posted.
