Asus has introduced two new models into its "Seashell" range with the launch of the 1005HA and the 1101HA.

The Intel Atom N280-powered 1005HA offers a 10.1-inch LED backlit display while the Intel Atom Z520-powered 1101HA is an 11.6-incher offering a 1366 x 768 resolution.

The main difference between these new models and the existing 1008HA appears to be battery life. The 1005HA claims up to 10.5-hours of battery life while the 1101HA boasts 9.5. This compares to the original Seashell's 6 hours.

Aside from that, the black or white 1005HA and 1101HA bring 160GB HDD, 10GB "Eee Storage", Wi-Fi 802.11n, optional Bluetooth 2.1, optional 1.3MP webcam, three USB ports and run Windows XP.

  • The ASUS 1005HA may be small... really small but do not underestimate the power of 802.11G, 2 logical CPU's and Windows XP Home in a 1.1Kg package!
