O2 has confirmed that it will be selling the Palm Pre, and it'll arrive in Britain before the end of the year. The company told Pocket-lint: "Our customers will be the first outside of North America to experience one of the most successful mobile devices of the year".
O2/Telefonica's exclusivity on the device has been rumoured for some time. It's grabbed a deal with Palm in the UK, Ireland, Spain and Germany. Jonathan Earle, Head of Consumer Marketing at O2, says in the video above:
"There are thousands of features that I think will appeal to our customers and meet the needs in their hectic lives", picking the WebOS operating system and QWERTY keyboard for particular praise.
Palm's chairman, Jon Rubinstein, added: "Since we showed Palm Pre at Mobile World Congress in February, there's been a great deal of anticipation for anannouncement about European availability, and that day is here".
We don't have any information on pricing, or a firm release date yet, but as soon as we hear anything, you'll be the first to know.
