Recruitment website 1Job has launched an iPhone application that puts the site's vacancies database "in the palm of your hand".

It's called "UK Jobs" and lets you search all vacancies across the UK and Ireland, updated every day. You can apply via your iPhone, or email any jobs you're interested in to your home PC.

The app is free, and the company behind it is promising to add any features requested by users in future - also free - updates. We'd suggest some use of the LinkedIn API, as a first step.

We'll keep you posted on this app's progress.
