Phoneless iPod touch gets a camera to compensate

New case hints at iPod Touch camera addition

3 July 2009 12:34 GMT / By Duncan Geere

A silicon case has surfaced on a Hong Kong / US iPod accessories website that adds weight to rumours that the iPod touch will shortly be upgraded to feature a camera.

The device's specifications, along with "light weight" and "allows easy access to all buttons" includes the phrase: "Has a hole for a camera on the back". The accessory is labelled "Anti-slip Silicone Skin Case for iPod Touch 3G".

Previous reports have come from multiple sites - Hardmac and iLounge. Both predict that the refresh will happen in September, and include the iPod nano as well as the touch.

We'll have to see nearer the time, but the evidence is now mounting that Apple will be revamping its iPod range in September.
