Archos said that it was "absolutely delighted" with its Archos 10, but was aware that the product had attracted some criticism.

Its answer is the Archos 10s, a slimmer model at 20mm and weighing only 1kg. It features a magnesium alloy skin for strength and durability.

It still packs in fairly regular netbook stats, running a N270 Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, and running Windows XP.

The Archos 10s will be available July 2009 in 2 versions, with a 3 cell retailing at £329.99 and 6 cell at £349.99.

The Archos Classmate will be available in the UK from August 2009 with a recommended retail price of £319.99.
