Microsoft Bing gets real-time Twitter search

Recent tweets to be included in results

Microsoft's new search engine, Bing, has announced it will be introducing real-time search data from micro-blogging service Twitter to its results.

Describing the move as an "initial foray into integrating more real time data into our search results", it's limited now to the "more prominent and prolific Twitterers".

This includes those from the world of tech such as Danny Sullivan and Kara Swisher as well as people with a more "general consumer appeal" like Al Gore and Ryan Seacrest.

When Bing users search for the names above in association with Twitter, they will see their latest tweets come up in real time on Bing’s search results, along with a link to "see more tweets" from that individual.

So who will be included? Microsoft says: "We picked a few thousand people to start, based primarily on their follower count and volume of tweets".
