The left-hand drive version of the Roadster is on sale in the UK now for around £90,000.
The announcement came as company owner Elon Musk opened the first European dealership, and what will become Tesla's flagship Euro showroom in Kensington, London.
Elon Musk said that Europe "had the potential to become a huge market for Tesla, bigger even than the US".
The showroom launch debuted the faster Tesla Roadster Sport in the UK, while development of the Model S electric saloon was confirmed as "back on track" for launch in late 2011.
