This week I get feisty about T-Mobile's G1 touch, get dreaming about power options for my gadgets, and moan about whether or not we really need a UK top 40 chart. Plus there's why I think that we will all be downloading apps for our printers next year.
That apps-on-printers idea DOES sound like a winner. The problem is that, with that, you require a new printer. I doubt it'll be ubiquitous in a year like Stuart said; my 3-year old printer has gone through one change of ink cart and is still chugging along fine; I have no intention of changing it until it dies. It certainly sounds cool, but how long it takes to arrive in general usage is anyone's guess.
As for the newspapers, you bet they'll make that a pay-for service.
I can see it happening with Google in general. Want todays emails? Just print them off and make your replies away from the internet, on the move or whatever, then send them on Gmail. Want a Google Doc? Just print it off.
With an internet connection, it also means all the printers with these apps available, will more likely than not also be network enabled from the start, saving you a nice chunk of cash on a print server add-on.
