Don't say the word "netbook"

The torrent of laptops from Asus continues with the ultraportable UX30. This machine is very slim and light - 2cm thick - but don't go confusing it with a netbook - it has some rather impressive specs.

To be precise, it has a 13.3-inch screen, 4GB of memory and a single or dual core CULV processor, along with Intel's G45 graphics. It has a 500GB hard drive, and brushed aluminium top. Very pretty, even more so in person than in the pictures.

It costs £999, and it'll be out in September.
