Porn industry gets social networking site

X-rated Pornoob launches into beta

The adult entertainment industry has got its own social networking site with the launch of Pornoob, currently live in a private beta.

With the tag-line, "a place for porn", a take on MySpace's "a place for friends", the x-rated site will offer porn fans the chance to discover new porn, porn stars and stalk, sorry, connect with their favourite stars in the industry.

Porn stars will be able to get exposure while studios will be able to find new talent and promote their output. With revenue currently from adverts, long-term plans include the option to sell content directly in profile.

"I want to see porn-stars get the spotlight and respect they deserve, I want studios and producers who have the skills to shoot great porn to find the talent they need, and most of all for their fans and users to be connected to a mature and safe community where they can easily fulfill all of their adult fantasies plus more", says Joel, co-founder and creative director.
