The new Zune, the next-gen version of Microsoft's answer to the iPod, will launch in the States on 8 September, reports suggest.
US blog Gizmodo has reportedly received internal Microsoft docs from a tipster that states the already-announced Zune HD, in 16GB and 32GB versions, will go on sale from that date.
The new Zune will offer a 16:9 widescreen format OLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 272 with full touch capabilities.
The "HD" bit comes in as users will be able to ouput HD content (720p) to an HD-Ready TV via an optional dock that ships with an HDMI connection.
We will keep you posted.
