Further to HTC's launch of its new "Hero" handset, Orange has announced, as rumoured, it will be offering the Android-based phone in the UK.The first Android device to be ranged by Orange in the UK, the Hero will be available from early July.
The operator says the new phone will be offered for free on select price plans, namely a £39.15 per month, 24-month contract.
The Hero will be exclusive to Orange in a "graphite" finish and offers a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA, 3.2-inch touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi and HTC's new "Sense" functionality.
“We’re really pleased to be launching our first Android handset in conjunction with HTC", says Francois Mahieu, director of devices, Orange UK.
