Further to HTC's launch of its new "Hero" handset, Orange has announced, as rumoured, it will be offering the Android-based phone in the UK.
The first Android device to be ranged by Orange in the UK, the Hero will be available from early July.
The operator says the new phone will be offered for free on select price plans, namely a £39.15 per month, 24-month contract.
The Hero will be exclusive to Orange in a "graphite" finish and offers a 5-megapixel camera, HSDPA, 3.2-inch touchscreen, GPS, Wi-Fi and HTC's new "Sense" functionality.
“We’re really pleased to be launching our first Android handset in conjunction with HTC", says Francois Mahieu, director of devices, Orange UK.
"The first of several Android devices you can expect from us this year, we believe the Hero is a great all round device which will allow consumers to get to grips with all the things they love about the internet, whilst on the move".
