HTC will announce a new Android-powered handset on Wednesday, Pocket-lint has learnt.
Details of the new handset announcement have leaked out thanks to a journalist expressing his excitement on Twitter.
"Really looking forward to HTC's new Android smartphone tomorrow; colleague who has played w it gives rave review", said the journalist in a tweet.
Although no details have been given as to what the new phone will offer from a tech spec point of view, the leak gives a date and confirmation of the operating system the new phone will use.
The news coincides with T-Mobile's earlier claims last week that it would be launching the "G1 Touch" sometime this week, suggesting the two announcements could be connected.
HTC has yet to announce an Android powered handset under its own steam, instead so far opting to choose operator partners like T-Mobile with the G1 and Vodafone in the UK for the HTC Magic.
Earlier this week, T-Mobile announced that it would be stocking the HTC Magic in the US, calling instead the myTouch 3G.
We will keep you posted.
