Facebook offers "streamlined" inbox

Improved searching, filters and spam reporting

Facebook has announced changes to the social networking site's email service, with a new, "streamlined" inbox.

Although the changes won't go far enough for some (the solution remains basic) it may help those that are members of lots of groups, or pages, with an option to file that kind of mail separately.

Facebook will be rolling out the new design over the next few weeks so look out for the new filters at the top of the inbox to help identify unread messages as well as to report spam. Searching in mail has also been improved.

In a blog post, Facebook says, "We're simplifying the Inbox to make it easier for you to find, read and control your Facebook messages".
