Jessops has announced that it will be offering the new Olympus Pen E-P1 with a launch event open to all customers at its London New Oxford Street store on 25 June.

At the launch event - that will see photographer David Bailey in attendance - starting from 6pm, Jessops will be giving away a free "Cross" pen, apparently worth £300 to the first 50 pre-orders.

The retro-styled camera is Olympus' latest Micro Four Thirds model and offers 12 megapixels, a 3-inch LCD screen and the ability to record HD-quality movies.

The basic Pen kit starts at £699 with a 14-42mm (28-84mm equiv.) zoom kit lens, whilst the kit with the wide-angle 17mm (34mm equiv.) "pancake" lens will be £749.
