Samsung has announced a new consumer smartphone in addition to the four business focused Omnias it announced on Monday, and we were on hand to get down and dirty with the new handset.

Like the Pixon12 the new Samsung Jet offers a 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED display that, promises Samsung, provides a resolution that is four times higher than a WQVGA screen.

In an attempt to make the phone quick and responsive, the Jet will come with a 800MHz application processor giving it its name. Other features include Samsung’s latest TouchWiz 2.0 user interface, the Dolfin Web browser rather than Opera and a 5-megapixel camera.
