New Samsung Omnia not one, but four new handsets

Samsung has confirmed rumours about a new Omnia handset by launching not just one but four new models.

The Omnia II (I8000), OmniaPRO series (OmniaPRO B7610, OmniaPRO B7320) as well as the OmniaLITE (B7300) will offer a range of different solutions to users keen to stay connected, as the company moves to offer business users mobile phones above and beyond its consumer offering.

The Omnia II features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and the world’s largest 3.7-inch AMOLED display with WVGA resolution.

TouchWiz 2.0 User Interface and 3D effects make enjoying multimedia and multi tasking convenient and fun. According to Samsung a more advanced R Touch (Resistive Touch) enables faster, more accurate touch response.

Connectivity for the Omnia II will come in the guise of HSUPA 5.76Mbps, HSDPA 7.2Mbps and Wi-Fi capabilities, while multimedia features include 480p video recording/playback, internet browsing and interactive 3D games. The phone will come with up to 48GB storage.

The OmniaPRO B7610 features a hybrid Touch/QWERTY form factor. It will come with Push email for multiple accounts, supports multiple corporate email solutions and Microsoft Office Suite lets users view and edit their documents in the palm of their hands. Opera 9.5 browser and fast HSDPA data transmission and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with the 5-megapixel camera, GPS and brilliant AMOLED display gives the user separate work and life.

The Samsung OmniaPRO B7320 will come in a form factor that BlackBerry Curve and Nokia E71 users will be familiar with. It will feature a 3-megapixel camera, FM radio with RDS and Wi-Fi also enabling users to be entertained wherever they go alongside a QWERTY keyboard.

Finally there is the OmniaLITE. It will feature TouchWiz 2.0 and downloadable online widgets the Opera browser and HSDPA & Wi-Fi connectivity. A 3-megapixel camera, and A-GPS complete the package.
