In the States a futuristic remote control "pointer" has gone on sale with the launch of Hillcrest Labs' once-concept-now-real "The Loop".

Wireless, The Loop comes with a small, USB 2.0 transceiver and lets users control their Windows PC's or Mac's media and is guaranteed to also work with the Kodak Theatre HD Player and the PS3.

The Loop's round design is said to be ergonomic with just four buttons and a scroll wheel. It's apparently specially angled towards those who watch content from their PC on their television.

Hillcrest says The Loop is a "highly precise" pointer, works regardless of the orientation of the device and will work up to 30 feet away from the computer.

Powered by two AA batteries, the The Loop pointer is on sale in the US now direct from Hillcrest Labs or via Amazon for $99.
