iFixit has now completed its teardown of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and it makes interesting reading for anyone curious about the innards of the new machine.

Gems revealed by the site include the fact that the SD card slot isn't completely captive, so your memory card is going to be half hanging out and apparently it's really quite similar to the non-unibody version.

Perhaps most of interest to those thinking of getting the laptop is that iFixit reckons the new battery wouldn't be that hard to replace - "all you need is a small Phillips screwdriver to open the case, and a tri-wing screwdriver to remove the battery"...

  • Are the new batteries released in the 13 inch pro's compatible with the previously released 13 inch aluminum unibodies? I have a 13 inch macbook and they just released the new ones after i bought mine. Im looking into upgrading the battery so that I too can enjoy 7 hours of fun! Posted by C.Downs, United States
